Soccer club secures land for complex

If all goes as planned, about 15 acres in southern Dawson County will become home to a new soccer complex later this summer.

Anton Sieber, director of Dawson County United Soccer Club, said Monday the complex will be built in phases with construction beginning in July.

The Dawsonville Racer swim team picked up several first place ribbons at a recent tri-meet held July 5 at Coosawattee River Resort in Ellijay. Along with Dawsonville was the Coosawattee swim team and the Pickens County Sea Dragons.

Racers to practice on Monday
