Bowen now accepting entries for fall art show

The Bowen Center for the Arts is currently accepting submissions for its upcoming juried fall show.

The show is open to all artists and photographers, and the deadline to submit entries is Oct. 1

There will be two prize categories: Art and Photography. A $300 Best in Show prize and $100 Award of Merits prize will be awarded for each category, plus additional prizes.

The theme for the show is open, and artwork can be paintings, drawings, mixed media, sculptures, original photographs and digital manipulations.

Artworks selected for the show will be on display from Nov. 5 to Dec. 14. In addition, the artwork will be displayed at the annual Artful Table luncheon Nov. 2.

An awards banquet will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 8 where the winning artists will be announced.

Artists can enter up to three original works. The entry fee for Bowen members is $10 per work and $12 per work for non-members. Payments can be made online or via cash or check.

The Bowen Center for the Arts is located just north of Dawsonville’s historic square at 334 Hwy. 9 N. Admission is free.  Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
