Belk will host its semiannual charity sale on Saturday, which benefits local nonprofits and schools.
To participate, shoppers should buy a $5 ticket from a participating nonprofit or at their local Belk store.
Purchasing a ticket directly from a nonprofit ensures the money goes toward that particular charity. Ticket purchases from Belk are divided equally among all the charities and schools.
The store will open from 6 to 10 a.m. and offer 20 to 75 percent off.
An extra 25 percent off will be offered on designer dresses, handbags, shoes and kids items. Up to 60 percent off will be offered on fine jewelry.
Those who buy tickets will get $5 off their first purchase of $5 or more.
Belk Rewards cardholders will get double rewards points and Belk Elite cardholders triple rewards points.
The first 100 customers will receive free Belk gift cards ranging in value from $5 to $100; they will also have the chance to win one of three $1,000 gift cards awarded companywide.
Participating schools and charities will be registered to win one of three $1,000 donations companywide.
In 2011, Belk's Charity Sale raised more than $5 million for hundreds of participating charitable organizations.
