Booth space is still available for the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce’s eighth annual business expo to be held Oct. 7 at the Lakeview Center on Dawson Forest Road.
Designed to give local residents a glimpse at the many businesses in Dawson County, the expo has been a great success for years. Sponsors believe this year will be no different.
“We have 50 businesses registered to set up booths, including nine restaurants that will bring samples of their foods,” said Pam Hamalainen, member director for the chamber.
More than 70 businesses set up booths at last year’s expo, which featured donated door prizes, a vast amount of information and samples from a variety of local restaurants and caterers.
“Last year’s Business Expo was really great for us and our business,” said Vickie Hood, who owns CitruSolution, a home-based, local cleaning solution business.
Hood and her husband Jay have recently expanded their business to include environmental cleaning products. They plan to debut their new products, along with the cleaning solution, during the expo.
“There is no better opportunity to get you and your profession out there than the chamber business expo,” said Kristie Myers, chairwoman of the chamber’s board of directors. “One-on-one networking is the best way to build your business, especially in this economic climate.”
The business expo, co-sponsored by Suntrust Bank, will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7 at the Lakeview Center, located at 2059 Dawson Forest Road, East. Admission is free.
