An economic development luncheon that aims to provide the region's business leaders and elected officials an opportunity to discuss the future of Ga. 400 will be held at 11:30 a.m. June 7 at the Lanier Technical College Forsyth Conference Center.

The 2012 Ga. 400 Summit will address numerous questions, including how the region's leaders can help reduce congestion and how they can improve the road's qualities.

Invited speakers include: Rudy Bowen, chairman of the state Transportation Board of Georgia; Emily Dunn, representative for the 9th Congressional District for the State Transportation Board of Georgia; Todd Long, deputy commissioner of the Georgia Department of Transportation; and Gena Evans, executive director of the State Road and Tollway Authority.

The luncheon's cost will be $30 for Dawson County Chamber of Commerce members and $35 for non-chamber members.

The audience at the summit will likely consist of decision makers from the region's largest businesses, manufacturers and vendors who transport goods along the highway.

Many elected officials from the federal, state and local levels of government could also be present.
