The 400 North Board of Realtors is sponsoring a men’s one pitch softball tournament this summer to help families struggling to make house payments.

The event, set for July 16 at Central Park in northern Forsyth County, aims to raise at least $6,000, which would provide six deserving families with mortgage payments for one month.

Recipients will be chosen through a drawing among homebuyers from January 2009 through June 30, 2010, that used a member of the 400 North Board of Realtors for their purchase.

Proceeds will be divided equally among Dawson, Forsyth and Lumpkin counties.

The board is also looking for sponsors for the tournament, which it hopes to make an annual event. Sponsorships range in price from $100 to $2,000.
