Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson in an email this morning reported that the sheriff’s office has received documentation from the City of Dawsonville related to reported missing funds.

“This documentation was delivered to the sheriff’s office by city management staff on Feb. 7, 2018,” Johnson said in the email. “Due to the nature of the investigation, the amount in question cannot be released at this time.”

City Manager Bob Bolz said Tuesday that he would consider the amount of money involved to be “substantial.”
