A Dawsonville man was arrested last week and faces several charges including child molestation and aggravated sodomy, while a Dahlonega woman was arrested a week earlier on sex trafficking charges related to the same incident.
The man, Randall Blake Parker, 27, was arrested by the Dawson County Sheriff's Office Nov. 25 and charged with aggravated sexual battery, false imprisonment, rape, aggravated sodomy, child molestation, aggravated child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes and a felony probation violation.
The woman, Tara Marlene Nichols, 21, was arrested on Nov. 20 and charged with aggravated sodomy, aggravated child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, false imprisonment, rape and trafficking a person for sexual servitude.
According to Sheriff Billy Carlisle, the alleged assault occurred between 10:30 p.m. on July 6 and 3 a.m. on July 7.
Carlisle said that the victim was visiting Nichols from her home in North Carolina, and was riding in a car with Parker while Nichols drove when the incident occurred.
Carlisle said the incident was reported to the Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office on Aug. 11, and the case was subsequently given to Dawson County authorities because the car was allegedly in the county when the incident occurred.
Carlisle said that due to the victim being a female under the age of 16, and because the case is still under investigation, no other information is available.
According to jail records, Parker and Nichols are both currently being held in the Dawson County jail without bond.
