A Ranger man was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and obstruction of an officer last week following a foot chase with the Dawson County Sheriff's Office, according to Sheriff-Elect Jeff Johnson. A passer-by reported a man lying in a ditch Aug. 12 on Hwy. 53 West. Dispatch sent officers to check on his welfare.
