The Dawson County Sheriffs Office collected approximately 25 marijuana plants during a July 26 raid of a home on Hensley Way in Dawson County.
According to Capt. Tony Wooten with the department, Dawson County worked in tandem with Pickens officials on the investigation. A search warrant also was executed on a home in Pickens County, where officers found a similar setup to what was discovered in Dawson.
We believe the two to be connected, Wooten said. The way both houses were set up was identical, with the lights and everything else that goes into (producing marijuana).
Lazaro A. Rodriguez-Alfonzo was arrested on charges of manufacturing marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, in connection with the case.
The case is still under investigation, Wooten said, and more arrests may be forthcoming.
