Local woman injured in wreck

A Dawsonville woman was still in the hospital Monday following a single-vehicle accident Thursday evening.

Lori Odom, 29, was transported by Life Flight to Grady Hospital in Atlanta Thursday, Oct. 20 after she drove her 1992 Mazda 929 down an embankment.

According to Georgia State Patrol reports Odom was traveling west on Highway 53 when - during the negation of a curve to the left - the vehicle went on to the north shoulder of 53 and crossed back over south shoulder, traveled down the embankment, struck a tree with its front and overturned on the passenger side.

Odom faces charges of DUI, failure to maintain lane, driving with a suspended/revoked license, open container in vehicle passenger area, safety restraint violation and tire requirements.

Grady Hospital refused to give an update on Odoms condition.
