DCHS Senior and Star Student Daniel Bettis is flanked by Star Teacher, Marcia Faircloth (on left), Lions Club President Don Cargill, and Bettis' parents Lisa and Harold. Daniel selected Ms. Faircloth as having had the most influence on his academic achievement. To obtain the STAR nomination, high school seniors must have the highest score on a single test date on the three-part SAT and be in the top 10 percent or top 10 students of their class based on grade point average. The Dawsonville Lions Club recognized the Bettis' achievements with dinner and an award.
