Authorities are investigating the early morning armed robbery of Zales jewelry store, located at the North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall.
Just after 10 a.m., a white female approximately 55 brandished a pistol and zip-tied two employees, Dawson County Capt. Tony Wooten said.
The thief escaped with an undisclosed amount of jewelry, Wooten said.
The woman is described as being possibly in her 30s, average build, and was last seen wearing a dark blue or black cap, a blue shirt and khaki pants.
An investigation is ongoing.
We are canvasing other stores at the mall to see if there is additional footage that may assist in the investigation, Wooten said.
A store employee confirmed no one was injured.
Mall Security Officer Roberto Jaysai refused comment.
Media calls were directed to BRAVE Public Relations in Atlanta that issued a statement: North Georgia Premium Outlets management and security are working closely with the Dawson County Police Department to share information that may lead to the arrest of the individual (We) are committed to providing a safe, quality-shopping environment and take several proactive security measures, including maintaining security patrol of our property and surrounding parking lots, and provide shoppers and employees with security escorts to their vehicles upon request.
