Devin Nichols admits he is still a bit nervous behind the wheel of his Mustang.
"I always wear my seatbelt," said the Dawson County High School junior.
Nichols' commitment to safe driving set him apart last month when he was recognized by Dawson County Sheriff's deputies.
Caught Safe, a program that awards safe teen drivers throughout the school year, is a collaborative effort sponsored by several groups and businesses in the community to encourage safe driving.
Chris Gaines, who owns a local Allstate Insurance office, and school resource officer Ron Bray presented Nichols with gifts cards and four pizzas to share with his friends at lunch.
"This is a real good program that makes a difference in our community," Gaines said.
