An employee with the Dawson County School System was recently featured online in a national publication that focuses on technology in K-12 Schools.
System Technology Supervisor Carol Helton was interviewed by a reporter with EDTECH: Focus on K-12, and the print edition will be out soon, Helton said.
The story was focused on how school districts depend on fast Internet network speeds as systems become more reliant on the technology.
The school district’s climb from slow speeds to fast speeds is described in the story, quoting Helton several times.
Helton said she met the reporter after “some switch purchases I made through a company … and the salesperson I spoke to realized we were upgrading our network.”
Helton said the salesperson then contacted the magazine “and recommended me for the story.”
She said it was “a really neat experience. It was really fun and interesting.”
