Keep Dawson County Beautiful is holding an electronics recycling event from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Wal-Mart shopping center.
Those looking to get rid of personal computers, printers, monitors, stereo equipment, radios, telephones, circuit boards and fax machines can stop by to recycle.
A $5 donation per car or truckload will benefit Keep Dawson County Beautiful. A $10 removal fee applies for televisions. No console TVs will be accepted.
Volunteers will be on site to help unload vehicles.
Executive Director Cathy Brooks encouraged residents to “look throughout your homes. We’ve all got outdated computers, monitors, printers, radios or VCRs we no longer use. This is the perfect opportunity to serve the community, beginning in our own homes.”
Keep Dawson County Beautiful is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful and Keep Georgia Beautiful.
The organization’s mission is to “encourage citizens to take greater responsibility in the beautification of Dawson County.”
Keep Dawson County Beautiful will also hold a District 4 community cleanup Nov. 6.
