Dawson County Emergency Services crews responded to a fire at the Sonic on Hwy. 53 East in Dawsonville this morning.
According to a Facebook page on the department's website, personnel were dispatched just before 7 a.m. to the restaurant, and upon arrival crews found smoke from the rooftop and fire in the deep fryer area of the restaurant.
According to the post, the fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the fryer area and the ventilation system. No injuries occurred.
The restaurant will be closed until cleared to re-open by the Dawson County Health Department.
"According the battalion chief on scene, the additional personnel recently added to Station 2 through the S.A.F.E.R. grant helped with the quick mitigation of the incident and meant that mutual aid was not needed when it normally would have been in the past," the post reads.
