Mayor, city council terms to expire in 2011

Public office terms ending this year are the posts of Dawsonville City Council members Mike Wilson and Mike Sosebee. The term of Mayor Joe Lane Cox will also expire.

 

Those wishing to seek public office in these categories may qualify anytime beginning at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 29 through 4:30 p.m. Sept. 2  in the office of the city clerk.

 

The General Election will be held Nov. 8.

 

Qualifying costs are $213 for city council members and $741 for the mayor post.

 

Fees were set by mayor and city council during the regular meeting on Jan. 18.

 

None have made formal announcements whether they will seek re-election.
