The Georgia Racing Hall of Fame is offering an early New Year's Eve celebration that will feature music from another era.
The New Year's Eve sock hop will run from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. and will include live music by Highway 53 with a special appearance by Jimmy McGuirt.
Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the GRHOF.
McGuirt has been performing the oldies for 50 years and the former member and founder of The Satellites received national Billboard attention with their hit recording "Moody."
It will be an evening of nostalgia, music, dancing and fun.
Music from Dion, The Impressions, Elvis, The Temptations, The Drifters, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and more will transport revelers to a dance party from yester year.
Food will be available and partiers can bring their own beverages.
McGuirt will be joined by Donnie Seay who performed with Joe Bennett & The Sparkletones and recorded the top ABC paramount hit "Black Slacks" which peaked at No. 17 on the top 100 Billboard chart.
Seay has performed with many national oldies acts and specializes in country music.
Mike Stone has performed with Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings and Dwight Yoakam among others. Stone joined Highway 53 after living on the west coast for many years.
Drummer Winfred Reeves was inducted into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame this year and has performed with national acts including Conway Twitty and Barbara Fairchild.
The event is sponsored by the Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter 970 and proceeds will benefit the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame.
