A man was killed Friday afternoon after a collision with a passenger vehicle in the area of Beartooth Parkway and Ga. 400.

Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson said that a call came in at 2:18 p.m. for Dawson personnel to assist in the incident.

The wreck occurred as the motorcycle was being pursued by a Georgia State Patrol officer, according to Johnson.

Johnson said that the left lane of Ga. 400 southbound and the left lane of Ga. 400 northbound will remain closed for several hours as GSP works the scene.
