A single-passenger plane crashed onto the shoulder of Goodson Road in Dawsonville shortly before noon today.

According to Emergency Services Chief Lanier Swafford, the pilot was out of the plane when emergency crews arrived and was conscious and alert. 

The Federal Aviation Administration was en route to the scene as of 1:30 p.m.
