Winter weather this weekend forced Dawson County Chamber of Commerce officials to err on the side of caution and postpone tonight's annual gala and awards ceremony.

Now in its 25th year, the event has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday at Atlanta Motorsports Park.

"We are excited to partner with the Atlanta Motorsports Park for this year's annual gala, which has a masquerade theme," said Christie Haynes, chamber president. "This is a great opportunity for our members and community to experience AMP's new state-of-the-art facility."

The banquet is the chamber's largest fundraising event.

Awards will also be handed out to members of the chamber during the banquet.

The Business Leader and Volunteer of the Year awards are chosen by chamber members with the members voting by nomination.

"Each year our members nominate a Business Leader of the Year and a Volunteer of the Year. This year's honorees are great leaders in our community and are highly deserving of these awards," Haynes said. Attendees are asked to dress in "cocktail attire."

Tickets, which are $75 per person or $550 for a table of eight, can be purchased from the chamber office or at www.dawson.org.
