Jeff Compton always loved the idea of teaching kids and making an impact on the next generation. After working for 10 years in the printing industry, he decided to make a change and went back to school to get his teaching degree. Now, Compton is in his 23rd year in the teaching field and has been selected as the 2023-24 teacher of the year for Dawson County Middle School.
