Election season isn’t quite over for voters in Dawson County and throughout Georgia.

Republican Herschel Walker and incumbent Democrat Raphael Warnock will compete against each other again during a Dec. 6 runoff election for U.S. Senate.
Neither candidate won more than 50 percent of the vote, triggering the need for a runoff election under state law.
U.S. Senator election
Note: Results are as of Nov. 14.
Statewide results
Raphael Warnock (D, incumbent): 49.41%
Herschel Junior Walker (R): 48.52%
Dawson County results
Herschel Junior Walker (R): 80.74%
Raphael Warnock (D, incumbent): 16.32%
Unofficial results show over 3.9 million Georgians voted in the senatorial race.
Warnock garnered a projected one percentage point more than Walker statewide, but in Dawson County, people overwhelmingly voted for the Republican candidate over the Democratic incumbent.
Walker received a greater amount of Election Day votes at more than 795,000, while Warnock got more absentee and advance votes at above 164,000 and 1.2 million respectively.

Eastern precinct: Fire Station no. 2 at 145 Liberty Drive (next to Tractor Supply)
Central precinct: Board of Elections office at 96 Academy Avenue
Western precinct: Fire Station no. 6 at 2142 Hubbard Road
