A Macon resident has been chosen as Dawson County’s sole finalist for its county manager.
Joey Leverette was named as the finalist for the leadership position, stated a county public notice.
The Board of Commissioners will decide on Leverette’s appointment at their May 18 voting session meeting, which immediately follows the board’s 4 p.m. work session.
The voting meeting will be held in the second-floor assembly room of the Dawson County Government Center, located at 25 Justice Way in Dawsonville.
DCN obtained Leverette’s resumé through an open records act request.
Leverette previously served for about one year as the Executive Director of the Macon Water Authority, according to his resumé.
Before that, he worked for 27-plus years in various water wastewater management and public utilities-related roles in Florida and in cities across Georgia.
Leverette earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia and a master’s in public administration from Georgia College and State University, according to his resumé.
DCN will update this story when more information is available.
