A local church is once again serving as a haven for those seeking refuge from chilly winter weather, according to an announcement from Dawson County Family Connection. 

CrossBridge Community Church has opened its doors as a warming station.

The warming station will be open from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. today to Friday, Feb. 21. The church is at 751 Ga. 53 East in Dawsonville.   

Pets are welcome but will have to be crated in a heated trailer on site, according to updated details from Dawson County Family Connection. 

Temperatures in the Dawsonville area are expected to drop below 32 degrees or freezing each night this week, weather forecasts show.
