Allen Dean Boyd, 78, of Cumming, died Oct. 8, 2013.

He was a member of God's House of Prayer.

He was a tank commander in the 42nd Infantry Division during the Korean Conflict. He held the rank of sergeant.

His parents, John Veston and Mary Ann Boyd; wife, Shelia Ann Boyd; and several brothers and sisters, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, Allen and Beverly Boyd of Marble Hill, Gene and Susan Boyd of Hiawassee, Alisa and Mike Green of Cumming, Gayle Boyd Fite of Calhoun; grandchildren, Krystal Phillips, Marcus A. Boyd, Zane Boyd, Dillon Green, Dakota Green; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Lindsey, LeAngel, MacKenzie, Jacob, Elisha, Elijah, Jackson; several step-grand and step-great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Oct. 12, in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Robbie Mathis, Terry Garrett and Allen Boyd officiating. Interment followed in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Memorial Fund for Sgt. Allen Dean Boyd at any BB&T location.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
