Barbara Bird Gray, 72, of Dawsonville, died May 20, 2011.

Born July 8, 1938 in Decatur to the late Harold and Roberta Bird, she had lived in Dawsonville for the past 13 years.

A homemaker at her death, Mrs. Gray was formerly employed at Gulf Oil Corporation. Currently a member of the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville, she was formerly a member of Peachtree Corners Baptist Church, Dunwoody Baptist Church and Briarlake Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, James Herbert Gray of Dawsonville; daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie and Geoff Jones of Canton, Cheryl and Brandt Gully of Marietta; sister, Nancy Field of Alpharetta; grandchildren, Tucker Jones, Chloe Jones, Peyton Gully, Anna Gully and Samantha Gully; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. May 22 at the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville with the Drs. Bob Horner and Jim Gaines officiating. Interment followed in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to the Kenneth Webster Stewart Fund, c/o First Baptist Church of Dawsonville, P.O. Box 1358, Dawsonville, GA 30534.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
