Carolyn Stephens, 70, of Dawsonville, died May 12, 2011.
Born July 18, 1940 to the late Hoyt and Annie Laura Waters, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. A homemaker at her death, she was formerly employed by Universal Rubber Company and along with her husband owned and operated S&W Superette for a number of years.
Carolyn attended the Dawsonville Church of God of Prophecy.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Kenneth Stephens of Dawsonville; daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha Hansard, Tammy and Steve Watson, Terri and Woody Reece, all of Dawsonville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura Jean and Glenn Satterfield of Gainesville, Linda and Hubert Platt of Cumming; brother and sister-in-law, H.B. and Dot Waters of Dawsonville; mother-in-law, Edna “Gamps” Stephens of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Eric Hansard, Kendric Hansard, Lori Reece; great-grandchildren, Reece Odom, Skye Hansard; devoted caregiver, Shirley Jarrard; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. May 14 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Russell Burt and Jason Hamby officiating. Interment followed in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.
