Charles Broughton Heard, 84, of Cumming, died April 8, 2016.

He was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church.

Charles was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

His wife, Betty Heard; son, Fred Heard; parents, Lawton and Eva Heard; brothers, G.C. Heard, Ivan Heard, Earl Heard and Roger Heard, preceded him in death.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews and a great-great-great-niece; special friend, Barney Hammond; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. April 10 at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Harold Bottoms and Ruel Martin officiating. Interment followed in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
