Clayton Reece, 78, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 8, 2011.

Born March 13, 1932 to the late Joe Brown and Onnie Reece, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.

Mr. Reece was of the Baptist faith and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

His sons, Don Reece, Doug Reece, Ronnie Jennings; and a grandson, Clay Reece, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Estelle Reece of Dawsonville; children, Ricky and Gail Jennings, Tina Goldsmith, Joe C. Reece, all of Dawsonville; daughter-in-law, Angela Reece of Dawsonville; sister, Opal "Dolly" Hansard of Dawsonville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ford and Mary Reece of Gainesville, Woody and Jeannette Reece of Dawsonville; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services were held at 7 p.m. Jan. 16 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sven Mossinger officiating.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
