David Bruce Wood Jr., 20, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 10, 2014.
Born Aug. 2, 1993 in Atlanta, he moved to Dawson County from Forsyth County in 2005.
A 2011 graduate of Dawson County High School, he was attending ITT Technical Institute, where he was studying draft design.
David was active in Boy Scouts, soccer, baseball and his passion, wrestling.
David wrestled in middle school, high school and with USA Wrestling, winning many awards and taking first place in multiple tournaments.
In addition to spending time with his family and many friends, David enjoyed hiking, camping, water sports, fishing and was a member of Grace Chapel Church of Christ in Cumming.
David had a positive touch on many lives and his smile, bright eyes and quick wit will be missed by so many.
His father, David Bruce Wood Sr. and grandmother, Ethelyn Brantley, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his son, Carter Wood; parents, Ethelyn and Rusty Geiger; sister, Camryn Geiger; grandparents, Homer and Pat Wood, Ernest and JB Brantley, June Geiger; aunts, Wanda, Teresa, Patty, Diana, Christine and Cheri; uncles, Kevin, Scott, Eric, Monty; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 18 at the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville with the Mr. Ray Turner and the Rev. Matt Pritchett officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 17 at the funeral home.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
