David Joshua Martin Jay Tillett, 27, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 13, 2016.

Born March 23, 1988 in Canton, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 15 years.

D.J. was a collector of unique objects and was adventurous with a unique personality.

He was a rock to his family, accepted everyone with open arms and helped anyone who was in need.

He was an angel with some scars, but had a big heart.

His father, David Martin Tillett; grandmother, Anna May Tillett; grandfather, Ronald F. Tillett; and nephew, William E. Ritchey, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter, Mackenzie Jane of Dawsonville; mother, Myra Garcia of Dawsonville; sister, Gloria Jane of Dawsonville; brother, Cody Joseph Tillett of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

A celebration of life was held from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Dahlonega Ward.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to help with final expenses.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
