Doris Alta Holbrook, 74, of Dawsonville, died Thursday, June 11, 2009,

  

Born Jan. 4, 1935 in Roanoke, Va. to the late Ollie D. and Sallie Pearl Britt, she had lived in Dawson County for the past six years, having moved from Covington.

  

Mrs. Holbrook was a homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother.

  

Her twin sister, Dorothy “Dot” Rowell; brother, Harold Britt; husband, Arthur Holbrook, preceded her in death.

  

Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Jason Holbrook of Dawsonville, Todd and Vickie Holbrook of Stillwater, Okla.; sister, Jackie Reed of Roanoke, Va.; brother, Dean Britt of Ben Wheeler, Texas; grandchildren, Hayley Holbrook, Lindsey Holbrook, Emma Holbrook and Wesley Smith; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 14 at the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Jim Gaines officiating.

  

Interment followed in the Holbrook Campground Cemetery.
