Golda Burt Heard, 84, of Dawsonville, died Oct. 30, 2012.
Born Aug. 12, 1928, to the late Wiley and Ola Berry, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Golda spent her life dedicated to her family and was employed in several fields during her working life.
She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Her husbands, Clyde A. Burt and Ed "Boots" Heard; sisters, Yvonne Berry, Melva Mitchell, Audrey Ralston, Ann Swain; and a brother, Odell Berry, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Ivan Bishop of Andalusia, Ala.; son, Ronald "Buddy" Burt of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Lindsey and Andy Wallace, Tammy Stowers Edwards, Landry Jones; great-grandchildren, Anden Wallace, Jenna Claire Wallace, McKale Edwards; special caregivers, Tabitha Jones, Susan Walsh, Monica Powell, Heather Ramey, Christy Wilkie; various other relatives also survive.
The family would like to thank Halcyon Hospice and Mary Jo Hitt, Kathryn Napier, Helen Grizzle and Linda McCombs.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 2 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Revs. Stephen Davis, Leonard W. Ridings and Russell Burt officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
