James Harold McGinnis, 67, of Forsyth County, died June 15, 2017.

Harold was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he participated in Operation Red Hat.

His parents, A.J. and Imogene McGinnis; brother, Jerry McGinnis; and son-in-law, Kelly Gardner, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, Michelle and Butch Hester of Cumming, Allen and Pam Cape of Cumming, Rhonda and Rhye Pinney of Florida, Rodney Cape, Mia and John Redd, all of Dawsonville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Janie McGinnis of Alpharetta, Carroll and Sarah McGinnis of Dawsonville, Mary Sue McGinnis of Cumming; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. June 19 in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alan Sutton officiating. Interment followed at 1:30 p.m. in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
