James L. Ruggles, 80, of Dawsonville, died May 30, 2015.
He was born in Eddyville, Iowa to the late Jeannette and Warner Ruggles.
James had a great love for motorcycles and riding.
He spent many years building racing engines for NASCAR and other racing outfits.
He was a longtime owner of Ruggles Performance.
He also enjoyed working for the Elliott's after his retirement to further pursue his love for engines and racing.
Survivors include his sons, Jim Treece and girlfriend Lori Boyarsky of Modesto, Calif., Thad and Donna Treece of Redding, Calif., Troy and Diana Treece, Brad Treece and girlfriend Donna Malech, all of San Jose, Calif.; sister, Doris Lee of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Charles Ruggles of Phoenix, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews; various other relatives also survive.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Dahlonega Funeral Home of Dahlonega was in charge of the arrangements.
