Jerry Smallwood, 59, of Dawsonville, died Nov. 22, 2016.

Born Aug. 21, 1957, to the late Bill and Ruby Smallwood, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 10 years, having moved from Lumpkin County.

Mr. Smallwood was employed in the plastics industry for more than 30 years.

Jerry took great pride that along with his family, they did the construction of their home. He was very devoted to his family and enjoyed travel, camping, the beach and panning for gold.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Patricia "Patti" Smallwood of Dawsonville; children, Jennifer and Matt Seelbinder, Wesley and Jessica Smallwood, all of Cumming, Kevin Smallwood and Leanna Gilreath of Gainesville; grandchildren, Landon Smallwood, Bradley Seelbinder, Charles Seelbinder, Emma Smallwood; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 26 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Bob Baines officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation, 1577 NE Expressway, Suite A, Atlanta, GA 30329.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
