Jewel G. Burt, 88, of Dawsonville, died May 20, 2011.

Born Jan. 17, 1923 in Lumpkin County to the late James and Ethel Gooch, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. Mrs. Burt was a homemaker and a member of Goshen Baptist Church.

Her husband, Howard J. Burt; sisters, Ruby Densmore, Lavonia Densmore, Hazel Breeden, Elizabeth Gamblin; and brothers, Garland Gooch and Guy Gooch, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her stepchildren, Ann and Danny Kinnard, Johnny and Kathy Burt, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Rick Kinnard, Jon and Terri Kinnard, Kasey and Jeff Sanders, Russell and Keena Burt, Cameron and Crystal Burt; 13 great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. May 23 at Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Russell Burt officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to the Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 1055, Dawsonville, GA 30534.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
