Lula B. Helton, 76, of Dawsonville, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a short illness.
Mrs. Helton was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.
While her first love was that of a homemaker and grandmother, for several years she was a floral designer at K-Mart in Gainesville and for the past 10 years at Ingles in Dawsonville.
She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Her husband, R. C. Helton; daughter, Karen Helton; parents, John and Rena Bruce preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Donna and Tyron Hardigree, Darrell and Christine Helton, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Jared Hardigree, Cameron Hardigree and Thomas Lamb, all of Dawsonville; sisters, Lawana Brown of Marietta, Sarah Henson of Ellijay; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were Friday, Aug. 22 at 2 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Gravitt officiating.
Interment followed in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
