Martha Grogan Fowler, 94, of Dahlonega, died June 20, 2018. Born Sept. 6, 1923 in Dawson County to the late Roy and Lillie Mae Grogan, she lived most of her life in Atlanta before moving to Lumpkin County in 2003. A homemaker at her death, Mrs. Fowler retired from the A&P Tea Company after 42 years of service. She was of the Presbyterian faith. Her husband, John Curtis Fowler, preceded her in death.

JD Swartz
J.D. Swartz, a former co-owner of the Forsyth County News and Dawson County News, died Thursday in his native Tennessee. He was 87.
