Mary Vayoma Matthews, 85, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Feb. 14, 2014.

Born July 18, 1928 in Dunham, Ky. to the late Nevie and Ena Collier, she lived in Lynn Haven for 40 years and had been spending time with her family in Maryland and Dawsonville.

Mrs. Matthews was a member of the Lynn Haven Church of Christ.

Her husband, Oliver Matthews, son Darrell Matthews and a number of sisters and brothers preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Bonita and Chino Diaz of Jarrettsville, Md., Douglas Matthews of Florida, David and Sandy Matthews of Boonsboro, Md., Belinda Mantz and Kathy Kohles of Dawsonville; nine grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren; special niece, Pat Cox of Wise, Va; brothers and sister in law, Paul and Thelma Collier of Jenkins, Ky. and Vernal Collier of Wise, Va.

Funeral services were Feb. 17 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Glen Walk Church of Christ, 3899 Sticks Road, Glen Walk, Pa. 17327.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
