Nellene Savannah Bannister Dooley, 84, of Cumming, died Aug. 7, 2011.
She was a member of Concord Baptist Church, where she was in the Oasis Choir and Adult II Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Good Time Senior Band in Stone Mountain.
Nelle loved to play cards with her friends, as well as bird watching and growing flowers.
She loved dancing and taught many people how to do the Charleston.
She was also a graduate of the Big Johns Clogging Class. Nelle loved southern gospel music, especially the Gaithers.
She was also an excellent southern cook, best known for her wonderful biscuits and was impeccably dressed at all times.
Her husband, Neal Dooley and her son, James Dooley, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and David McLaughlin of Cumming; son, Eddie Dooley of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Harley Bennett of Dawsonville; brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Donna Bannister of Gainesville; her "Precious Angel Dolls" four grandchildren: 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 10 at Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Burgess and Dr. Lester Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. in Eternal Hill Cemetery in Snellville.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday.
