Richard Clark Byrd, 67, of Cumming, died Nov. 7, 2011.

Born in Toccoa, he was the son of the late Harold and Emily Byrd.

Richard spent his career as a pharmacist. He was a member of First Redeemer Church.

In his leisure time, he loved to cook and garden. But most importantly, he loved his family.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Joyce Byrd; children, Richard Clark (Ann) Byrd Jr., Elizabeth Ashley Byrd, James Gentry, Kathy Adams and Cyndi (Dale) Berrong; brothers, David Byrd; sister-in-law, Pat Parker; grandchildren, Dillon Gentry, Brennen Mason, Sarah Gentry, Caleb Gentry, James Cole Gentry, Brandon Adams, Brooke Adams, Tyler Berrong and Cody Berrong; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Nov. 10 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home. Interment followed at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

McDonald and Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
