Russell Alan (Rusty) Harben, 49, of Cumming, died Monday, July 20, 2009.

A graduate of Parkview High School in Lilburn, he was devoted to his sons, extended family and many long-time friends.

His father, John S. Harben, Jr. of Dawsonville, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his sons, Russell Alan Harben, Jr., William Luke Harben and Robert Scott Harben, all of Alpharetta; friend, Donna J. Kosnac; mother, Myrtle E. Harben of Dawsonville; brother, John S. Harben III of Canton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathryn Harben-Wiley and James Wiley of Decatur, Lori and Jeff Gore of Cumming; nephews, John S. Harben IV and Charles Edgar Harben, both of Canton, Joshua Caleb Gore and John Samuel Gore, both of Cumming; various other relatives also survive.

A celebration of his life and memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 24 in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Anderson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggested donations be made in his name to the Harben Brothers Fund, Wachovia Bank.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
