Susan Rink, 66, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 28, 2015.
Born Nov. 22, 1948 in Syracuse, N.Y. to the late Ralph and Elizabeth Wolfe, Mrs. Rink had been a resident of Dawsonville since 1999.
She began a career as a teacher in East Syracuse, N.Y., after which she taught in Apex, N.C. and then in the Forsyth County School System, where she retired after teaching for 41 years.
A member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Dawsonville, she loved reading, traveling to The Outer Banks of North Carolina, and her pig collectables.
A loving grandmother, her grandchildren were her life.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Gordon Rink of Dawsonville; sons and daughter-in-law, Steven Rink of Dawsonville, Kevin and April Rink of McAdenville, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Christie and Phillip Hughes of Sandy Springs; sister, Carole Thorp of Boyertown, Penn.; three grandchildren, Matthew Rink, Abagail Rink, Bennett Rink; fourth grandson, Nolan Hughes, due in May; various other relatives also survive.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. March 5 at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Dr. Orin Sampson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Silver City Elementary School Library, 6200 Dahlonega Hwy., Cumming, GA 30028.
