William O. Bill Burnham

William O. "Bill" Burnham, 96, of Dawsonville, died Oct. 14, 2013.

Born March 10, 1917 in Douglasville to the late Otho and Magnolia Burnham, he had lived in Dawson County more than 50 years, having moved from Morrow. Dr. Burnham owned and operated a pharmacy in Hapeville and opened Burnham's Pharmacy when he moved to Dawsonville.

Bill served as coroner of Dawson County for 16 years and was a former president of the Dawsonville Lions Club. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and was a member of the Dawsonville Methodist Church.

His wives, Mildred Burnham and Ruth Burnham; and a brother, A.J. Burnham, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Marcus Crane; sons, William O. Burnham Jr., Clark Burnham; grandchildren, Mark and Amanda Crane, Ashley and Johnny Trammell, Matthew Burnham; great-grandchildren, Breanna Crane, Braden Crane, Isabella Trammell, Tanner Trammell; sister, Evelyn Smith; friends, Stephanie and Frank Talley; various other relatives also survive.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 15 at Westview Cemetery.

At his request, a visitation was not held.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
