The varsity Tiger basketball team received a huge loss last week with the injury of starting guard, Tyler Dominy. Dominy fractured his ankle during a game at Chestatee High School. The star basketball player and quarterback on the football team could be out a minimum of six weeks.
"This was a major loss for the summer because of his play and leadership," said Dawson County High School Head Basketball Coach Thad Burgess.
The boys' team has been busy preparing for next seasons campaign with scrimmage games at Chestatee High School and a team camp held last weekend at Berry College in Rome.
"I have been so pleased with the effort of our players so far, they seem to really like and are excited about the changes we have been working on. We got started off with a win over Chestatee last week. I couldn't ask for more and the players have put everything they have into our system," Burgess said.
The team will travel to South Forsyth High School this Friday before leaving on Monday for a team camp at Birmingham-Southern in Alabama.
