The Dawson County wrestling team hosted Rabun Gap and White County in a tri-match Dec. 10. The Tigers picked up two big wins defeating Rabun Gap, 75-6, and White County, 48-36.

Against Rabun Gap, Josh Poe (106-pounds), Justin Evans (113-pounds), Quade Buytendorp (120-pounds), Jeremy Whalen (138-pounds), Coty Greer (145-pounds), Michael Cronan (152-pounds), Brett Whalen (182-pounds), Gavin Brown (195-pounds) and Keaton Toal (220-pounds) picked up pins.

Winning by decision over Rabun Gap was Chase Wilson (285-pounds).

Also picking up team points by way of forfeit were: Robby Barrett (126-pounds), Zach Guy (160-pounds) and Levi Kennedy (170-pounds).

The match with White County was a little closer. The results were as follows: Josh Poe (106-pounds) pinned Steven Fox; Justin Evans (113-pounds) pinned Austin Durham; Coty Greer (145-pounds) win by forfeit; Michael Cronan (152-pounds) pinned Josh Jenkins; Zach Guy (160-pounds) pinned Shane Tyner; Brett Whalen (182-pounds) pinned Henry Couch; Gavin Brown (195-pounds) pinned Michael Wheeler; and Keaton Toal (285-pounds) pinned Austin Anderson.

Coach Arron Haynes' team will wrestle at Gainesville Dec. 17 in a dual match with the Red Elephants before breaking for Christmas.
