Young JV Tigers prepare for season

Junior varsity and assistant varsity basketball coach Wes Greer begins his fourth year at Dawson County High School.

Greer will have his work cut out for him this year. He has 10 players on his roster with half of them having little experience at the high school level.

“We mostly have freshman who haven’t had much success over the last two years,” said Greer. “Kaleb Holbrook and Levi Wilson will be our top two players and we will count on their experience and leadership.”

This years’ team will be made up of five freshman (Roland Stroud, Grant Shope, Logan Lewis, Zach Hunsucker and Jake Baudin), four sophomores (Holbrook, Wilson, Neil Little and Tyler King) and one junior (Dalton McDaniel).

“They are a good group of boys. The kids are very teachable and listen to what I have to say,” Greer said about his team.

“We will do the same things as the varsity to get them ready for the future. We will run the 3-2 zone, shoot and press,” said Greer.

The team will open its season Tuesday, Nov. 28 at North Forsyth High School.
